Security Systems Integration Can Save Lives: Kabat One
STORY INLINE POST
Q: What market needs led to the creation of Kabat One, and what value does it provide to Mexico?
A: The most important value we provide is saving lives. Our ultimate goal is to create a logical integration between all available security systems to protect and preserve human life. Security technology often gets reduced to cameras, alarms, or databases, but the true impact lies in how these tools are connected. By building integrated ecosystems, we allow governments, companies, and communities to respond faster, more effectively, and with greater certainty. At the core of everything we do is the mission of ensuring that more people return safely to their families at the end of the day.
Q: How is Kabat One positioned within the security and technology market in Latin America, and what role does Mexico play in that strategy?
A: Grupo Kabat is one of the leading companies in security solutions in Latin America. Within the group we have two divisions: one focuses on system integration and project execution, and the other is Kabat One, which develops and implements the technology itself. This structure allows us to cover both the design and execution of large-scale projects as well as the development of the advanced platforms that power them.
In Mexico, we cover almost 30% of the government B2G market. In the B2B space our presence is still limited, but we are now expanding. We have offices in Mexico, Peru, and Panama, and we will soon open operations in Ecuador and Brazil. Mexico plays a central role in this strategy because of its size, its urbanization, and the urgent security challenges the country faces. If a solution works in Mexico, it is likely to work elsewhere in the region.
Q: What are the main opportunities you see in Mexico?
A: Latin America represents 5% of the global security market, with Mexico and Brazil being the two largest markets. Kabat One focuses on integrated security solutions, including advanced systems, software, and cyber defense, but primarily on control and monitoring centers. In Mexico these are known as C5 centers. They concentrate thousands of cameras, analytics tools, emergency phone lines, dispatch systems, police radios, GPS devices, and databases. The main challenge is that none of these systems are integrated.
Kabat One addresses this problem by serving as a system of subsystems, an ecosystem that consolidates and analyzes data in one place. This integration enables more complete investigations and faster responses. There are also opportunities beyond the public sector. Large corporations, retail chains, and critical infrastructure companies such as airports and energy providers are increasingly recognizing the value of integrated platforms that combine security with operational intelligence.
Q: What lessons have been most important in consolidating Kabat One’s presence in Latin America?
A: Our focus is Latin America because the challenges here are unique. The first responder, often the local police, is sometimes poorly trained or not the right profile for the job, which creates mistrust. In addition, corruption is a widespread factor. Kabat One helps by ensuring correct investigation, dispatch, and reaction.
In Mexico, a first responder must arrive within 13 minutes from the moment a 911 call is received. In emergencies, that may be too long. Our technology uses AI to filter calls, eliminate prank calls, automatically move cameras to the reported location, and dispatch the closest qualified responder. This makes response times significantly faster and more efficient.
The lesson is that technology has to be adapted to local realities. Importing a foreign model without adaptation does not work. Success comes from combining international best practices with an understanding of how institutions actually operate in each country.
Q: What metrics or indicators do you use to demonstrate to customers the impact of your solutions in terms of operational efficiency and risk reduction?
A: When working with government clients, we base our analysis on two key indices. The first is the perception of security among the population. If people feel safer walking in the streets, then technology is fulfilling its purpose. The second is crime statistics. For example, in Michoacan, where we implemented Kabat One in mid-2023, the number of intentional homicides decreased from 2,761 in 2022 to about 800 so far this year, a reduction of over 60% that translates into nearly 2,000 lives saved.
In the private sector, metrics depend on each client. For example, a large retail chain uses our solutions not only for theft prevention but also for customer flow analysis, access control, and business intelligence. By integrating cameras and sensors with data analytics, we help them improve both security and business performance.
Q: How is Kabat One using AI to streamline processes and improve client satisfaction?
A: AI is increasingly important in security, even though this industry tends to be conservative. Kabat One is part of NVIDIA’s Metropolitan Project, which applies AI to develop safe and smart cities. This collaboration allows us to stay at the cutting edge of innovation while adapting AI to Latin American contexts.
Our AI solutions include modules such as K-Connect, which allows citizens’ cameras to integrate with government control centers under strict protocols. AI analytics can detect specific faces, weapons, or stolen vehicles. We also use AI prompts for video analysis, enabling operators to filter millions of data points quickly, for example, showing only people lying on the ground or identifying motorcycles carrying two riders, which often indicates potential criminal activity.
In retail, AI helps combine security with customer intelligence, offering insights into purchasing behavior while enhancing safety. This dual use, protection and efficiency, illustrates the versatility of AI in the modern security environment.
Q: How prepared is Mexico to face the security challenges that will arise as a result of the World Cup 2026?
A: Mexico is not yet ready. Investments tend to focus on adding more cameras or patrol cars, but the real need is data integration and efficient coordination. Some federal agencies may be working on it, but there are concerns about privately managed stadiums and the surrounding infrastructure. Events of this magnitude attract organized crime and other risks, such as human trafficking and fraud, which require coordinated prevention. Without proper integration, isolated investments will not be enough to guarantee safety for millions of visitors.
Q: How would you summarize Kabat One’s mission and long-term vision?
A: Our mission is to save lives. As entrepreneurs, integrators, and technology providers, we must never lose sight of that. Investments and equipment are important, but what truly matters are the results: reducing crime, preventing tragedies, and protecting people.
We must work together as a community, uniting technology and professionalism to create safer environments. Governments, private companies, and citizens all have a role to play. At the end of the day, life is lived only once, and we all have a responsibility to safeguard it.
